ABOUT LAUREN
The person you meet is the person who does the work
Twenty years in cabinetry, most of them running a full operation. Now focused on the two things that decide whether a project goes well: design and knowledge.

I am Lauren Behm. I have spent more than twenty years in cabinetry and for most of that time I ran a full production operation: staff, factory, fitment, quality control, accounts, the lot.
A few years ago I made a decision. I stepped away from managing site work and staff so I could focus on the two things I'm genuinely best at, which are design and knowledge. It means I have time to think. It means my clients get my attention rather than my leftover hours.
And it means the advice you get from me is the advice I would give a friend, because I have made most of those mistakes myself and would rather you not repeat them.
I work with homeowners, architects and designers across the Western Cape. Some come to me at the plan stage, which is where I am most useful. Others arrive halfway through a build that has gone sideways, which is wher I am not needed. Both are welcome.
I have seen what happens if cabinetry is treated as the last item on a build schedule. It is never the cheap mistake. It is the one you live with every day.
How I work, in three sentences
One point of contact
You'll be with me from the first meeting until the final adjustment. Nothing gets lost between a salesperson, a designer and a factory.
Decisions before deadline
Every choice is made early, in writing, with the cost attached. Site is not the place to be choosing handles.
Honest about the answer
If something in your plan will not work, I will say so. If your budget will not stretch to what you have described, I will say that too.
THE WORKSHOP
Made by people I have worked with for years.
Your cabinetry is made and fitted by subcontractors I have collaborated with for twenty years. These are long-term relationships, built on trust over many projects, so we already share the same understanding of how the work should be done. I do not work with people I do not know. I manage them, and I answer for their work.
Custom doors are different. Those are made in-house, by us, to your architect's or your own design.
